All this talk about Fall decorating and somehow I am still stuck on summer....
and decorating with succulents!
I picked this wire basket up over a year ago...
I have never really done much with it.
Okay...
I have never done anything with it!!
I added 6 old terra-cotta pots with a wonderful patina...
Better but it still needs something...
I went to Home Depot again and purchased 6 succulents from the garden department. I purchased the smallest size they had. I originally thought these were 79 cents each but they are $1.79 each.
Here's what I chose:
A few miscellaneous varieties with different textures and colors...
Oh look.. I love the name of this plant!!
I thought I would have to plant them but they slipped right in!
Doesn't get much easier!
Why did a wait so long to do this?
Thanks for stopping by!!

They are darling succulents. I didn't even realize how tiny they were until I saw a set of fingers around them. The wire with the clay and the greenery makes a beautiful display.

Very, very cute....love the display...
Hi Marcy. I love your wire basket and I never think to use succulents - a great idea and they look fantastic! Hope you have a wonderful day ~ Tina x
Amazing little pots!! And perfect for your succulents- which happen to be one thing I cannot kill! LOL Wonderful vignette.

Looks fantastic!
I have one of these little wire baskets too. I use mine outside with my antique watering cans in the summertime. I never thought about bringing it inside and planting succulents inside it!!! Brilliant idea...I just might have to give it a try with mine :o)Your ivy looks so green and pretty...mine only last about two weeks inside before I kill them. I have no idea what I am doing wrong?!?!?! Well other than I don't have a green thumb! LOL

I love that, great look.

You need to wash the ivy leaves once a week. I usually stick mine under the sink or in the shower.. otherwise they get spider mites... It's a pain but I love the way they look!
That looks great!! I never think about succulents, I guess living in the deep south I just don't see them enough! I assume upkeep is minimal? I don't have much of a green thumb (and actually, right now my thumb is heirloom white :) ) Love the post!
That's adorable! I want one of those wire baskets for holding our drinking glasses in an organized way... Love the succulents though!
I love the way this looks! Succulents are so easy on the eye! I love them, and I plant lots of hens and chicks in my garden too. I never thought to bring them indoors! Brilliant!

Gorgeous! I love it!
Love the pots and succulents; unique and attractive. Just perfect for the wire basket. Great job.
They look SO good! And your transferware is gorgeous!!
That does it! I am going succulent shopping today!
Adore the wire basket and what you did with it. A year?
They look fabulous and fit perfectly in your wire basket. They'll bring a little bit of summer all year round.
Beautiful!! Thanks so much for linking up to Vignette Fridays this week! I love your vignette. So beautiful and original - and most importantly: INSPIRATIONAL! All the best, Artie
Hi Marci, What a darling basket and the little pots are perfect for it. I've never tried growing succulents before so maybe now is the time.
I didn't paint the letters on my basket. It is an old wine basket and believe that is the name of the wine. I would think you could get a similar look with stencils. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Sherry
I how I love thee........
This is beautiful! I am hosting a 50 dollar CSN Giveaway. Do drop by My Dream Canvas for a visit.
Love the whole display... the plants, wire and brown transferware/ironstone.
Too bad you aren't in my neck of the woods... succulents grow in my sandy soil like crazy! I could have saved you a little $$ :)
After seeing this, I may have to bring some of mine inside!

This is great! What a wonderful atmosphere it provides. I love those planters! Where did you find them?? Thank you for linking up to my Friday link party! See you next week!
I love that little wire basket plant holder. I am holding on to summer too. i rationalize that it's not really over till September 21st. Here in the Northeast summer never seems long enough, and the water is usually warmest now, so if the weather is still nice like it has been, I can't give in to fall till it really arrives.
Very pretty! Great idea!
Kristen
Love this display, the transferware plates are gorgeous
I'm usually not big on succulents...and not great at keeping houseplants alive...but I just love how yours look...I think a trip to Home Depot is in my future.
I love how these look - so pretty, which surprises me. I'm not a huge succulent fan, but this is gorgeous!
